Philadelphia's fashion scene is growing by the minute, and I'm always happy to hear of events that collaborate with our city's talented wealth of models, designers, makeup artists and photographers. Starting on Friday, August 19th, 17...Days of Fashion brings together many of Philadelphia's independent fashion aficionados for 21 different fashion shows, parties and sales. Below are three of the events I'm most excited to check out, but you can see the full list of events here.

Candy Coated Kids in the Park

Friday, August 19

5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

LOVE Park

1500 Arch Street

17...Days of Fashion kicks off with a children's fashion show benefiting Schriner's Hospital for Children. Stylist Giovanni Styles created a children's clothing line with a knack for fun, imaginative pieces. Enjoy a selection of looks from her collection, while knowing all proceeds from the event directly benefit children who need it most.

Insider tip: Tickets are $35.

The Sixth Annual Philadelphia Music and Fashion Showcase: The Artistic Side of Fashion

Sunday, September 4

Noon - 4:00 p.m.

The October Gallery Lounge

7165 Germantown Avenue

17… Days of Fashion is partnering with The Philadelphia Music & Fashion Showcase to pay a special tribute to the legendary Sonia Sanchez. Sonia is a live jazz and spoken word artist who has spent many years as an art and craft vendor designer as well as having a large presence in the performing arts.

17...Days of Fashion Closing Show with celebrity stylist Anthony Henderson

Sunday, September 4

6:00 p.m.

The Holiday Inn

400 Arch Street

This closing show will be a showstopper! Celebrity stylist Anthony Henderson will be the MC of this fashion show that will be featuring six designers that are fashion forward and innovative thinkers. Two of the featured designers Crissy Phillips and Dana Richardson are both Jersey girls at heart with a niche for detail and design at a young age. Both women have won honors during their high school and universities that they attended. Each of their designs have vibrant colors, unique stitching and reveal timeless looks. In men’s apparel, Him Defined will be owning the catwalk by modeling their classic designs with a twist which puts them over the edge for men’s fashion. 17… Days of Fashion's closing show will be an event to add to your calendar.

Insider tip: Tickets are $20.
